The North of the Charles Revue is a zine of collected writing that centers our neighborhoods and broader New England in everything we do. We strive to connect you to our community and release writing that reflects our shared values. Issues feature regularly rotating sections, such as Politics, Music, Nature, Creative, Poetry, and more, submitted by members of our community. From professional & published writers to amateurs looking for a new creative outlet, the Revue is by the people and for the people. 150 free copies are distributed upon the release of new Issues and can be found in select locations. Additionally, copies are available to purchase at low cost below. Every dollar of online sales go back into funding the project. See below to order a copy, as well as pick up locations for new drops. Find us online at @ncrzine. Send an email to northofthecharlesrevue@gmail.com. I dare you.

NCR started, and still runs, out of a triple decker in Somerville. We work with writers from around here; some of them friends who we pestered to “write something for the zine” and others folks who filled out the form. It’s the latter who make this project great. People who found a copy in the wild, walked by a poster on their way to work, or saw a post online (shoutout r/somerville). Once we get our nasty fingers on enough submitted work from friends and strangers, we select the best, give a round of edits, compile them, print copies, hand em out, and mail them to anyone who wants one. In case you were curious, we got a Brother laser printer that purrs like a Hellcat.
Thanks for checking us out, tell your neighbor about it.
